CHICAGO - (Business Wire) Element115.net, an eHealth solutions company based in Chicago, IL, announced a mobile website application for healthcare organizations. Healthcare providers can rapidly deploy a mobile version of their website through Element115’s hosted web application. Unless designed for mobile access, a website usually does not render quickly or it can be cumbersome to navigate on a mobile device such as an iPhone, Blackberry, Nokia or other such smart device. With the popularity of smart mobile devices many healthcare providers see a need to provide improved website access of key information, particularly in the case of emergency patient care, locations and contact information. Providing quality care is often time-sensitive and locating addresses, phone numbers and maps on a mobile phone device efficiently can save precious minutes and reduce confusion and frustration. Hospitals and large clinics that provide a diversity of services and have multiple locations need to provide their web information clearly in order for the healthcare consumer to navigate efficiently. According to Nielsen Mobile, there were 59 million US mobile web users in April 2009. “The growth in smart mobile device usage is impacting the web strategy of many healthcare providers,” stated Bob Ronchi, Vice President of Sales for Element115.net. “Hospitals are concerned that their key information is easily available to mobile users in need of care.” Element115.net provides the mobile site as a hosted solution, eliminating the need for the provider to invest in hardware or software. The site is easily customizable to the provider’s existing design and branding. “Healthcare IT departments are currently consumed with projects around patient medical information and providing a hosted solution for the consumer website makes this much easier and timely for the marketing organization to implement,” stated Venkatesh Korla, President of Element115.net. Element115.net’s mobile site has been implemented by both Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL and North Shore-LIJ Health System serving Greater Long Island, Queens and Staten Island in the New York City metro area.
