(Sugar Land, Texas) -- EGL Italia (Genova, Italy), a subsidiary of
Elektrizitaets-Gesellschaft Laufenburg AG (SWF:EGL) (Zurich, Switzerland),
has completed construction and began commercial operation of a 760-megawatt
(MW) gas-fired combined-cycle plant in Rizziconi, Reggio-Calabria province.
The plant consists of technology developed by Siemens (Munich,
Germany) and Ansaldo (BIT:STS) (Genova, Italy).
