EDMONTON, ALBERTA -- 07/28/08 -- The Edmonton theatre and performing arts scene is thriving as venues in the city's Downtown Arts District are attracting more and more in-demand acts and performers from across Canada and around the world. Art lovers are ecstatic about the construction of the new Art Gallery of Alberta, due to open its doors next year Edmonton, Alberta. With over 30,000 square feet of quality museum space, the Art Gallery is set to become one of the top Edmonton attractions. The gallery will offer education and instruction, as well as hosting international and local art exhibits year round.

Another centre of culture in Edmonton, Alberta is Old Strathcona, a Provincial Historic Area and one of the 10 best shopping and grassroots arts, music and theatre districts in Canada, with a renowned Farmer's Market, more theatres in a few square blocks than any other place in Edmonton, and a booming Edmonton nightlife. The city also offers many opportunities to time travel through historical Edmonton attractions like Fort Edmonton Park, The Royal Alberta Museum, and the award-winning Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village just east of Edmonton.
