BELLEVUE, Wash., Nov. 4 WA-EdifecsInformatica

BELLEVUE, Wash., Nov. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Edifecs, Inc., the proven leader in compliance and visibility solutions for healthcare, today announced that Edifecs 5010-ready validation engine is now integrated into the Informatica B2B Data Exchange solution for healthcare payers. The new solution provides Healthcare Insurers with the market's first fully unified payer data hub solution.

The combined solution enables electronic claims handling and HIPAA compliance for payers to effectively manage all healthcare data transformation, data exchange, data visibility, data quality, HIPAA data validation and HIPAA 5010 migration along with other aspects of data integration.

Edifecs has provided HIPAA validation strategic capabilities for Informatica to create the one single solution that enables healthcare insurers and healthcare plans, fiscal agents, clearing houses, and other covered entities to accept and fully validate any HIPAA message, separate good claims from bad, improve first-pass adjudication rate and analyze data across adjudication and reconciliation systems.

"As the industry leader in providing edge-of-enterprise transactional compliance, governance & visibility and analytics healthcare solutions, the Edifecs component of the Informatica solution will help enforce regulatory as well as industry compliance and improve data quality with their business partners," said Sunny Singh, CEO, Edifecs. "These capabilities will help healthcare insurers reduce risk, increase business efficiency, minimize operational costs and enhance customer satisfaction."

Informatica performed an extensive evaluation of competing vendors using a number of technical and business criteria. Edifecs turned out to be the obvious choice owing to Edifecs' superior corporate viability, outstanding solution vision, best-in-class product capabilities and exceptional solution architecture. By incorporating Edifecs products, the joint solution offers a future-proof compliance solution with support for both existing and future standards such as HIPAA 5010 & ICD-10.

"The Informatica B2B Data Exchange solution for Healthcare Payers is a comprehensive and economical offering for optimizing the electronic claims process, while ensuring HIPAA compliance," said Girish Pancha, general manager, Data Integration, Informatica. "Customers can now leverage a unified platform for automating the entire electronic claims data exchange process, and avoid having to weave together an assemblage of niche solutions. Healthcare insurers with existing Informatica investments can increase the value of those investments and meet the specific challenges of efficient electronic claims processing and regulatory compliance."

Edifecs has also recently announced the release of the Edifecs5010(TM) Compliance Suite, a free and comprehensive scenario-based testing and certification service for 5010 transactions. More information is available at www.edifecs.com.
