Earnings Round up NYSE:XL, NASDAQ:FSLR, NYSE:LSI by PennyStockPickAlert.com

(EMAILWIRE.COM, October 29, 2009 ) Dallas, TX - XL Capital Ltd. (NYSE:XL) climbed 4.74% to $17.00 in post market hours after it said on late Wednesday that its third-quarter loss lessened to $11.4 million, or 3 cents a share, from a loss of $1.65 billion, or $6.04 a share a year ago. Total revenue slipped to $1.49 billion, from $1.74 billion last year.

First Solar, Inc. (NASDAQ:FSLR) plunged over 13% to $131.90 after it  posted late Wednesday third-quarter net income of $153.3 million, or $1.79 a share, up from $99.3 million, or $1.20 a share, a year ago. Revenue for the three months ended Sept. 26 rose 38% to $480.9 million from $348.7 million a year ago. Analysts surveyed by FactSet Research had predicted the Tempe, Ariz.-based solar panels maker would post earnings of $1.71 a share on $524 million in revenue.

LSI Corporation (NYSE:LSI) jumped up 4% to $5.19 after it reports Q3 EPS of $0.18, 14 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.04. Revenue for the quarter was $578.4 million, which compares to the estimate of $555.65 million. It Sees Q4 EPS of $0.07-$0.13, versus the consensus of $0.06 and revenues of $605-$645 million, versus the consensus of $587.5 million.
