AGOURA HILLS, CA -- 04/28/08 --
e5 Clean Energy, a premier provider of
commercial solar energy solutions, is pleased to announce the appointment
of Ronald Means as Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Christopher
McArthur, who will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board. As part of
the announcement, Mr. Means announced a new strategic plan to aggressively
expand the firm's integrated solar solutions into a variety of commercial
markets, including industrial, manufacturing, distribution, agricultural
and waste industries.
"This is an exciting time to take a leadership role in the renewable energy
industry," Mr. Means commented. "The integrated approach that is unique to
e5 Clean Energy's commercial solutions is quickly becoming the gold
standard for organizations dedicated to maximizing the benefits of a solar
electric system to its full potential. By eliminating all upfront capital
costs and providing a customized solar energy solution for each customer,
there are very few businesses today that wouldn't greatly benefit,
completely without risk, from an e5 Clean Energy solution."
Mr. Means previously served in a variety of executive positions in the
electronics industry, including professional audio giant JBL, a Harman
International Company. During his tenure as president, Mr. Means obtained
record-breaking revenues and profit levels and created a dominant market
share in each of the company's business segments.
"We are excited to bring such an experienced and innovative person on board
at e5," said Chris McArthur, Chairman of the Board at e5 Clean Energy.
"Ronald brings a strong commitment to sustainable technology and we are
confident he will provide great leadership and success to our team."
In addition to overseeing strategic planning, financing, operational
execution and accountability to e5 Clean Energy shareholders, Mr. Means
stated his overarching goal is to ensure that the firm's renewable energy
programs become the "top of mind" solution for organizations dedicated to
reducing energy costs, securing affordable and renewable energy into the
future and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
"Through the use of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), we eliminate the need
for our customers to allocate core business capital to buy and maintain
their own solar renewable power system," Mr. Means said. "Furthermore, we
act as a second power company reducing the operational risks of 'brown
outs' from utility companies and most importantly, save them money on their
energy bill. The result is that we provide our clients with a hedge
against rising electric utility rates while reducing their carbon footprint
and empowering them to take control of their energy future."
Throughout his career, he has served on boards for a number of corporations
as well as several trade and industry organizations.
Why the e5 Clean Energy Approach to Solar is Unique:
e5 Clean Energy is in the business of selling clean power, not solar
systems. e5 Clean Energy designs, installs, and maintains customized solar
energy systems for their clean energy clients to provide them with an
additional source of power at a competitive and predicable price. An e5
customer pays only for the power generated from the solar system through a
Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), and saves money over the course of the
contract by locking in their cost of power.
