NEW YORK, Nov. 21 NY-DUF-Hires-Bollmann
NEW YORK, Nov. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Duff & Phelps Corporation (NYSE: DUF), a leading provider of independent financial advisory and investment banking services, today announced that Frank Bollmann, managing director in Duff & Phelps' Munich office, has been invited to serve as a member of the new International Valuation Standards Board (IVSB). The IVSB is part of the International Valuation Standards Committee (IVSC), based in the United Kingdom. Bollmann will be joined by leading valuation experts from Australia, Canada, China, India, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the United States.

The IVSB has the responsibility of working toward a single set of international valuation standards. IVSB new projects will include reviewing international valuation standards "due process" procedures, serving as a liaison between accounting standard setters on issues, such as fair value accounting, and establishing protocol for responding to requests regarding clarification and interpretation of international valuation standards.

"We are naturally proud that Frank has been asked to join the recently formed International Valuation Standards Board," said Paul Barnes, global leader of Duff & Phelps' Valuation Advisory Services practice. "Frank joins a number of our professionals who work with similar bodies, such as the IASB, FASB and the SEC, that advise accounting standard setters on valuation implementation issues in connection with financial reporting."

"The global convergence of accounting standards and the movement towards fair value reporting across markets has increased the need for our expertise," said Kleon Phili, head of Duff & Phelps' international operations. "Frank brings extensive experience in financial reporting valuation to the important tasks the IVSB and IVSC will tackle at a critical time for the global economy."
