Air handling systems restored at Iowa Public Works Department and Indiana Diesel Plant ANN ARBOR, Mich., Aug. 5
ANN ARBOR, Mich., Aug. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- The DUCTZ National Service Team (NST), an affiliate of DUCTZ Indoor Air Professionals, has recently completed restoration of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems that were severely damaged in the recent Midwest floods. The DUCTZ NST was called into action for mold remediation and to return the HVAC systems to proper working order. Restoration service was performed at the Cummins Diesel Plant in Columbus, Indiana and the Department of Public Works in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The Cummins Diesel Plant, a 1.6 million square foot facility, filled with muddy river water when a nearby tributary flooded in mid June. The basements of the main building and the corporate health care facility, and the main floor of the corporate childcare facility, were contaminated by the flood waters. The DUCTZ NST was tasked with cleaning and sanitizing the HVAC systems of these sprawling facilities in a short 3-week time span. DUCTZ owners from Frisco, Texas and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina were on-site along with other DUCTZ technicians from across the country and the job was completed July 7.
At the Cedar Rapids Department of Public Works, a building spanning an entire city block, flood waters filled the basement and rose to four feet deep on the main level, requiring the DUCTZ NST to restore the HVAC systems for both the first and second floors of the building. The DUCTZ NST professionals assigned to this project included franchise owners from Milwaukee, North Denver and Colorado Springs. The project started on June 24 and was completed July 18.
"Though the task was daunting and the impact of flood waters to the buildings' air systems was severe, our team's dedication persevered," said Greg Long, DUCTZ NST Director of Operations. "It was an honor to help these communities recover from such enormous and unfortunate disasters."
