Shein will edit DTN features and series and oversee special projects OMAHA, Neb., Aug. 20
OMAHA, Neb., Aug. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- DTN, the leading business information

announced today that it has hired Elaine Shein as its new associate managing
editor. Shein will be responsible for editing DTN feature articles and series
as well as providing oversight on special projects. Shein will bring
additional depth and leadership to DTN's leading news and market coverage.
Prior to joining DTN, Shein spent two decades covering agriculture in the
United States and Canada. Most recently, she served as the executive editor
for the Capital Press Agriculture Weekly in Salem, Ore. She also served as
the editor and deputy publisher of The Western Producer. She has covered
stories in Europe, South America and Australia, in addition to her work in
North America.
In 2008, she served on the board of the Agri-Business Council of Oregon
and as president of the Oregon Agriculture in the Classroom Foundation.
Shein has received several journalism awards from organizations such as
the North American Agricultural Journalists (NAAJ), Canadian Farm Writers'
Federation (CFWF) and the American Agricultural Editors' Association. In
addition to her journalistic accolades, Shein has served on the board of NAAJ
and the Canadian Association of Journalists and is a past president of the
CFWF and Saskatchewan Farm Writers' Federation.

Shein earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of
Regina and another bachelor's degree from the University of Saskatchewan. In
2006, she received the Alumna of the Year award from St. Thomas More College
at the University of Saskatchewan for her career and society contributions.
Shein has extensive farming experience from growing up on a farm in
Saskatchewan where she helped raise cattle and grow crops. Her family remains
active in farming.
