Mobile development database from dotMobi will now include data from Sony Ericsson and Bango along with new enterprise support options DUBLIN, Ireland and WASHINGTON, Oct. 1
DUBLIN, Ireland and WASHINGTON, Oct. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- dotMobi, the
company behind the .mobi Internet domain and mobiForge cross-platform mobile
developer forum, today announced that the 2.0 version of DeviceAtlas - its
award-winning mobile device database - is now available.
As previously announced, this 2.0 release moves DeviceAtlas from a
"read-only" database to a "read-write" version with the introduction of a
variety of technical enhancements, including automated phone capability tests,
advanced search features and powerful graph options to generate insight into
device data patterns along with the ability to download personalized versions
of the database.
dotMobi has also received commitments for device data from a number of new
contributors, including Sony Ericsson and Bango. Data from these providers has
been adding to existing ongoing data updates from such mobile market-leaders
as Nokia, Vodafone, Telecom Italia Mobile (TIM), Argogroup and Mobizoft.
"Less than a year after its introduction, DeviceAtlas has become the de
facto resource for developers to use in creating device-aware content. That's
why Bango is excited to join the ranks of mobile companies contributing device
data to DeviceAtlas. By helping to get this information directly into
developer's hands, we know that the quality of mobile sites will continue to
soar and that the mobile Web will continue its explosive growth," said Ray
Anderson, CEO and Founder, Bango.
Trey Harvin, CEO of dotMobi, said, "DeviceAtlas has quickly proved to be
exactly what the mobile industry needed to help grow the mobile Web.
DeviceAtlas is already the world's most popular mobile device database with
more registered users than any other similar product. And now, with the
addition of data from Sony Ericsson and Bango, we have made the world's
largest device database even larger, while improving the accuracy of the data
with DeviceAtlas' unique community approach. Developers who build mobile sites
using DeviceAtlas know that their content will work for consumers, no matter
what their mobile phone is - even an Apple iPhone or RIM BlackBerry."
Enterprise licensing and support now available
While dotMobi will continue to offer free DeviceAtlas licenses to
developers and extremely low pricing for smaller businesses, the demand that
larger enterprises are showing for DeviceAtlas has led dotMobi to create
special enterprise-level licensing and support to meet the unique demands of
the largest Web sites on the market.
"We designed DeviceAtlas to be extremely affordable to even the smallest
of developers and it will remain that way. But dotMobi has received an
incredible number of requests from large corporate customers, who need higher
levels of service, support, and licensing. To meet their needs, we've
developed special enterprise-level licensing and support options," said Paul
Nerger, Vice President of Advanced Services and Applications, dotMobi.
The new DeviceAtlas Enterprise License and Support Agreement will provide
large Web-site owners with licenses that include unlimited site licensing of
DeviceAtlas Premium Edition as well as higher service levels of support both
before and after purchase.
