CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - (Business Wire) Dossia, a leading Personal Health Record provider, announced today that the company is offering its support to the student-led Public Health & Technology (PHAT) Forum at the Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) to stage the Public Health & Technology (PHAT) Conference. The conference will bring together leading industry and academic experts to discuss the potential of health IT to improve health delivery, focusing on provider adoption of EHRs, meaningful use, and patient empowerment. The conference will take place Monday, November 16, at the Joseph B. Martin Conference Center, Boston, MA, and is co-sponsored by the Department of Health Policy and Management at HSPH.

Among the list of confirmed speakers are John Halamka (CIO of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center), Adam Bosworth (CEO Keas), John Moore (Chilmark Research), David Cutler (Professor of Economics, Harvard University), Steve Lohr (Technology Reporter, New York Times), and Janice Nall (Director of the Division of eHealth Marketing, CDC).

According to PHAT President and HSPH student Jonathan Payne, “This conference provides an opportunity for students to learn from national leaders in the field of health information technology.” Payne went on to say that, “It is also our hope that this event will raise awareness of the importance of health IT to public health education and of the need for additional resources and a more coordinated effort to create these types of learning opportunities in the future.”

“We at Dossia strongly believe that events like the Public Health & Technology Conference, which bring together academic and industry leaders in a forum for productive dialogue and sharing of expertise, are vital in order to advance health information technology adoption and impact,” said Dossia CEO Colin Evans. “Dossia is very pleased to have the opportunity to lend our support to such initiatives.”
