RALEIGH, N.C. - (Business Wire) DocSite®, a leader in point-of-care decision support, quality performance management and health information exchange services to the healthcare industry, announced today that their Physician’s Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI) customers are receiving their 2008 PQRI incentive bonuses from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). CMS will continue to distribute 2008 incentive payments through the end of November, and approved physicians will receive their payment by check or direct deposit, depending on how they traditionally receive payments from Medicare. PQRI allows physicians and hospitals the opportunity to qualify for incentive payments up to two percent of their total allowed Physician Fee Schedule charges for Medicare Part B covered services for that year. DocSite PQRIsm is a CMS-certified Registry that provides a simple, effective way for physicians to submit their data to qualify for their PQRI incentive, ultimately improving patient care and lowering costs. DocSite PQRI customers are reaping the benefits of using this easy and affordable pay-for-performance program. “Without your help, I can honestly say we would not have completed the labor intensive claims-based PQRI process,” said Amelia Alvarez, office manager with Ennis Ear, Nose & Throat, a Texas-based practice and member of the Texas Medical Association. “Thanks to DocSite, we were able to complete the documentation requirements with minimal staff time or interruption. We just received our Medicare 2008 PQRI payment, and I want to thank DocSite for enabling our office to be properly compensated for our efforts.” Many medical associations have partnered with DocSite, offering their members access to the web-based service at a discounted rate. Efforts to inform their members and encourage them to submit with DocSite PQRI have proven beneficial. “Boise Orthopedic Clinic recently completed the Preventive Care measure group for all eleven of our providers. We were able to complete our 2009 PQRI in a very short period of time, with minimal use of staff resources. DocSite's online registry is very easy to use,” said Connie Kniefel, CPA, MA, CMPE and Administrator of Boise Orthopedic Clinic. “My special thanks to the Idaho Medical Association for bringing DocSite to our attention. I previously looked into claims-based PQRI reporting and concluded that the effort was too substantial for this practice to undertake. Using DocSite was just too easy to believe!” “DocSite is pleased to offer such a quick, easy and affordable way for physicians to earn their PQRI incentives, and we are thrilled with the high praise from our satisfied customers,” said Paul Sheils, CEO of DocSite. “We have made the DocSite PQRI service even better for 2009.” DocSite PQRI supports the 30 consecutive patient rule using clinical data rather than complex billing codes to satisfy the PQRI requirements established by Medicare. Physicians still have time to take advantage of the 2009 PQRI bonus program; data must be submitted to DocSite by February 28, 2010, and all data submitted after December 31, 2009 must have been collected during CY2009 office visits. Visit www.docsite.com/pqri to learn more about the service, view a demo or register for an interactive webinar.
