Digital Angel Secures Contract with Shipping Corporation of India

SO. ST. PAUL, Minn. - (Business Wire) Digital Angel (the Company) (NASDAQ:DIGA), an advanced technology company in the field of identification solutions for food safety and tracking of high value assets, announced today its Indian distributor, SHM Shipcare of India, has been awarded a contract by the Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) to supply 200 ships with the Companys McMurdo SMARTFIND emergency position indicating rescue beacons (EPIRBs). The contract also includes servicing.

The SCI was established in October 1961 by the amalgamation of Eastern Shipping Corporation and Western Shipping Corporation. Starting out as a marginal Liner shipping company with just 19 vessels, the SCI today has grown into a giant conglomerate with 83 ships of 4.6 million DWT (deadweight tonnage) with substantial interests in 10 different segments of the shipping trade.
