DataPath Field Services Support Ramstein Air Base Teleport That Provides Critical Satellite Communications Capabilities for U.S. Military Operations DULUTH, Ga., Aug. 7
DULUTH, Ga., Aug. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- DataPath, Inc., a leading provider of
satellite and wireless communications networks around the world, has been
awarded $1.7 million to provide field services support for the Ramstein Air
Base satellite communications teleport operated by the U.S. Air Force. This
funding continues DataPath's support of the Ramstein teleport and is from
exercised options on an existing delivery order.
The teleport is a vital Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) hub for
military communications. It links military X band networks with commercial Ku
band networks to enhance overall bandwidth capacity and provide
network-centric, high-bandwidth capabilities to U.S. forces. DataPath
installed the teleport and has supported it for seven years.
"Our experts onsite at Ramstein have provided quality service working
alongside the U.S. Air Force since the teleport was established," said Steve
Lindeman, vice president of Business Operations at DataPath. "We are very
proud of our role in building and supporting the DISA teleport network."
DataPath has more than 200 personnel supporting the U.S. military in 60
locations and nine countries. In addition to supporting the DISA teleport
network, DataPath field personnel specialize in designing, installing and
managing other critical communications network programs such as the U.S.
Army's Joint Network Node(JNN)/Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (WIN-T)
and Deployable Ku Band Earth Terminal (DKET) programs as well as the U.S.
Marine Corps' Support Wide Area Network (SWAN) program.
Program Manager WIN-T's Commercial SATCOM Terminal Program at the U.S.
Army Communications-Electronics Command in Fort Monmouth, N.J. made the award
through the Worldwide Satellite Systems contract.
