New executive brings over 20 years of commercial life sciences experience to Cyntellect SAN DIEGO, Sept. 16
SAN DIEGO, Sept. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Cyntellect, a privately-held life sciences company leading the development and commercialization of live-cell analysis and manipulation systems, announced today that it has appointed David Burns as the Company's Vice President Sales & Marketing and Chief Operating Officer. David will be responsible for the commercialization of Cyntellect's products and services in the life sciences research market. He joins Cyntellect with an extensive commercial background at leading life sciences companies including GE Healthcare Life Sciences, Amersham and Packard Bioscience.

David comes to Cyntellect from GE Healthcare Life Sciences (formerly Amersham Biosciences) where he filled the roles of Head of Strategic Growth, Head of Strategic Business Development and VP Commercial Alliances. Prior to that, he was CEO of Imaging Research Inc. in St. Catharine's, Ontario which was acquired by Amersham in July of 2003. David joined Imaging Research and the Amersham group from a role as Vice-President Business Development and Marketing at Packard-BioSignal Inc., a Packard BioScience subsidiary in Montreal, Quebec. David's prior experience included other executive business development and marketing positions with Packard Bioscience in the USA and Netherlands and in scientific sales with Pharmacia/LKB in the UK. David graduated in Medical Laboratory Sciences from Napier University, Edinburgh.
