NORTHRIDGE, Calif., Nov. 4 CA-CSC-Security-USC

NORTHRIDGE, Calif., Nov. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Contemporary Services Corporation (CSC), the world leader in event security and crowd management, recently announced a new security ambassador program in partnership with the University of Southern California (USC). CSC began providing security ambassadors to the university prior to this school year, with the goal of the program being to strategically position CSC's staff in order to provide a visual presence that promotes the safety of students around the housing community located north of the main campus. Led by Los Angeles Branch Manager, Roy Sukimoto, the ambassador program has progressed exceedingly well and was recently instrumental in the arrest of two robbery suspects.

Following one month with no reported robberies, a female USC student was robbed around noon on Monday, October 26th behind the University Park Health Center. After being shoved from behind, two male suspects stole her property and fled. Thinking quickly, the female student followed the two suspects into the North University Park area, where she encountered a CSC security ambassador. The ambassador and the female student pursued the two suspects and called USC's Department of Public Safety (DPS) for assistance. DPS officers were then able to quickly locate the two suspects, who were arrested and taken into custody. CSC's effort was praised by Capt. David Carlisle, who feels that the presence of the CSC security ambassadors has likely contributed to a decrease in crime around the campus. The USC ambassador program is provided in partnership between CSC and USC's Department of Public Safety and is supported by USC's Chief of DPS, Carey Drayton, and the Associate Senior Vice President of Career and Protective Services, Dr. Charles Lane. CSC's President and CEO, Damon Zumwalt, extended his views regarding the outcome of this recent incident, saying that "it exemplifies the cohesiveness of the operation and the true partnership between USC's Department of Public Safety and CSC's security team." The well-received ambassador program will continue throughout USC's academic year.

CSC is the world leader in fully-managed event staffing, crowd management, security, and guest services for both the entertainment and sporting event industries. Founded by Damon Zumwalt in 1967, CSC's 42 years of experience have resulted in a loyal and esteemed client base, including more than 100 stadiums and arenas, over 50 universities and colleges, more than 20 convention centers, and numerous clients in the MLB, MLS, NBA, NFL, NHL, and NASCAR. Along with Damon Zumwalt, CSC's management team has decades of security and crowd management experience providing services to the world's largest special events, including the U.S. Open, 29 Super Bowls, 7 Olympic Games, and 2 World Cups.
