Can you solve the mystery before the great detective?
(PRWEB) November 22, 2009 -- With the new stamp issue from Guernsey Post stamp collectors and Sherlock Holmes fans alike have the chance to follow in the footsteps of the world's greatest detective in a new adventure on the British island of Alderney.
With a backdrop of the island’s most famous landmarks “The Curious Case of the Alderney Bull” sees Holmes and Watson uncovering theft, smuggling and defending the innocence of an accused man.
The story begins, “On Sunday morning our breakfast was interrupted by the entrance of a young woman in a state of considerable agitation...”. The intriguing tale is cleverly crafted so budding detectives can solve it by reading the story, studying the pictures and stamps for clues, plus working out the coded messages to try to beat Holmes to work out ‘whodunnit’ and unmask the culprit.

This is a philatelic first using innovative printing, a special lens and hidden images that add to the coded clues in the story.
Geurnsey Post is also offering a holiday for two to the island of Alderney from the UK to anyone who visits Sherlock Stamps and can answering a very simple question, "What is the name of Sherlock’s famous sidekick?"
