Cleveland Addiction Agency and National Association Partner to Help Clergy Counsel the Children of Alcoholics

CLEVELAND, Jan. 22  /PRNewswire/ -- Recovery Resources, a nonprofit alcohol and drug treatment agency and the National Association of Children of Alcoholics (NACOA) have partnered to provide clergy and others involved in pastoral care with a free one-day training program. The seminar will help participants to understand how the disease of alcoholism and other drug addictions impact the family, how to recognize its symptoms and how to best intervene and support families confronting the problem.
The seminar will be held on Wednesday, January 30 from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm (EST) at the Visiting Nurse Association of Cleveland, 2500 East 22nd Street, Cleveland 44115. It is open to clergy, lay ministers, leadership staff and pastoral care nurses and staff. The program is free and includes lunch. Awareness and educational materials on the children of alcoholics will be distributed to attendees.
Sis Wenger, president and CEO of NACOA and the Rev. Mark A. Latcovich, Ph.D., vice rector and academic dean of St. Mary's Seminary in Cleveland will conduct the training. Free pamphlets, posters and other educational materials will be distributed.
