ATLANTA - (Business Wire) Chickens aren’t just for farms anymore, and the Chicken Whisperer, Andy Schneider, is spreading the word with his 2010 Chicken Whisperer National Tour. Schneider is an expert in helping people raise their own flocks and hosts the nationally broadcast radio show “Backyard Poultry with the Chicken Whisperer.” “With these uncertain times, people want to get back to the basics: knowing where their food comes from and knowing what they’re putting into their bodies,” Schneider said. “I want to separate fact from fiction and promote the many advantages of keeping poultry in backyards across America.”
Eighteen months ago Schneider founded the Atlanta Backyard Poultry Meetup Group, which just recently reached 800 members, the most of any local group in the country. The 2010 Chicken Whisperer Tour will include twelve cities that are home to thousands of members of these Backyard Poultry Meetup Groups.
The 2010 Chicken Whisperer Tour will visit Austin, TX; Dallas, TX; Raleigh, N.C.; Nashville, TN; Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ; Chicago, IL; Los Angeles, CA; St. Louis, MO; Portland, OR; New York, NY; and Palm Beach, FL. The Chicken Whisperer events will include a one-hour live and interactive broadcast of his radio show, a two-hour class on getting started with backyard poultry, giveaways from Schneider’s sponsors and an opportunity for pictures and autographs. Locations not included on the national tour can still learn from the Chicken Whisperer through webinars available every Tuesday and Thursday evening. Webinars will broadcast Schneider’s Getting Started with Backyard Poultry class and will include a Chicken Whisperer Webinar ala’ Coop, a box shipped directly to the host of the event with giveaways, educational materials and signage to make the Virtual Chicken Whisperer Event a success. Getting Started with Backyard Poultry teaches attendees everything they need to know to get their backyard flocks going. Schneider goes through the growing backyard poultry movement, the benefits of owning a backyard flock and all the basics of getting started. The audience is also allowed time for a question and answer session at the end. Tips include information on incubation, nutrition, chicken coops, and many other topics. While it is a beginner’s class, experienced chicken owners can also pick up tricks from Schneider’s experience.
