CARLSBAD, CA -- 04/03/08 -- MaxLinear, Inc., a fabless semiconductor company at the forefront of developing digital CMOS broadband radio frequency (RF) ICs for consumer markets, today announced it has appointed Charlie Lesko to the role of Vice President of Worldwide Sales. This marks the beginning of a new corporate growth and market share expansion initiative for the company. He will report to Dr. Kishore Seendripu, MaxLinear's CEO.

"MaxLinear is now at a propitious inflection point in its growth. We truly have the right products to address the fast-growing mobile and digital TV markets. With his proven leadership abilities in managing sales & marketing at large semiconductor companies such as Broadcom and AMIS, Charlie will help us realize the anticipated rapid growth in our sales in these end markets," Seendripu said. "We are thrilled to have such a seasoned executive join the MaxLinear team."

Mr. Lesko joins MaxLinear from AMI Semiconductor, where he spent five years as AMI's Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Strategic Marketing. In that position, he played a key role in significantly growing revenue and market share. Prior to AMI, Mr. Lesko was at Broadcom Corp. where he served as Vice President of North American Sales and acting Vice President of Worldwide Sales.

In addition to this experience, Mr. Lesko has an extensive sales and marketing background in the semiconductor industry. Previous positions include Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Axcelis Technologies and various executive positions in sales at Teradyne. Mr. Lesko has an M.B.A. in finance from the University of Dallas and a B.S. degree in engineering from the State University of New York-Stony Brook.
