ATLANTA - (Business Wire) Chainalytics LLC, a supply chain services firm specializing in applying analytics to enhance fact-based supply chain decisions, announced today its upcoming complementary webinar, “Best Practices in Transportation Procurement.” Chainalytics, i2 Technologies, and Nestle USA will share best practices, proven techniques and lessons learned to help companies generate real results from transportation bids. In addition, Chainalytics will share its forecast for a tightening transportation capacity market developed through recent analysis with its Model-Based Benchmarking Consortium. The webinar is scheduled for Thursday, November 5th at 11:00 AM EST and will be hosted by The Journal of Commerce and sponsored by Chainalytics and i2. Many companies are under pressure to dramatically reduce transportation costs while maintaining high levels of carrier service. This will become even more challenging in the next 24 months. Chainalytics survey results indicate that 82% of respondents categorize transportation capacity as “easily available” today. But by December 2010, nearly half of all respondents believe capacity will be somewhat to very tight. Nestle will discuss how it continues to benefit from its transportation procurement events, including not only realizing rate reductions and reducing its carrier base, but also realigning networks, improving service levels and strengthening carrier relationships. The webinar panel participants include moderator Paul Page, Editorial Director for The Journal of Commerce; Joe Lombardo, Group Manager, Transportation, Nestle USA; Gary Girotti, Vice President, Transportation Practice, Chainalytics, LLC; and Paul Bacon, Product Manager, Transportation Bid Collaboration, i2 Technologies. Presentations will be followed by a live question-and-answer session. Registration is now available - click here!!
