Nurseries and Garden Centers from Eugene, Oregon to Woodland, Washington Host Special Events and Promotions throughout the Third Week in September WILSONVILLE, Ore., June 16
WILSONVILLE, Ore., June 16 /PRNewswire/ -- The Oregon Association of Nurseries (OAN) is gearing up for its third annual Le Tour des Plants, A Gardener's Excursion, Sept. 13-21, 2008. More than 35 garden centers and nurseries from the Eugene, Corvallis, Salem and greater Portland areas to Woodland, Wash. will showcase innovative ideas, new plants and the best in fall gardening.
The 2008 Le Tour des Plants will feature more than 150 events throughout the nine-day gardening excursion. Activities at the various garden centers and specialty nurseries include display garden tours, festivals, workshops, wine tasting and family-friendly entertainment such as music and barbecues.
"Le Tour des Plants is a free, fun self-guided excursion for gardeners that we created to inspire fall gardening among new and avid gardeners alike," said Ann Murphy, director of marketing for OAN. "The week is filled with a bounty of information and activities. As summer winds down, Le Tour des Plants a great way explore our area garden centers, nurseries and display gardens and soak up new ideas -- along with our great fall weather -- from some of the Northwest's leading gardening experts.
