ANN ARBOR, Mich., Nov. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- BlueThread Technologies, Inc. today announced that they have won the Microsoft® SharePoint® Server 2010 Innovative Independent Software Vendor (ISV) award for the company's StoragePoint® product. The award recognizes an ISV partner solution, built on SharePoint that goes beyond filling gaps and addresses business-critical customer needs through deep innovation and integration with Microsoft SharePoint Server capabilities.

"BlueThread has brought an important solution to market," said Kathleen Winder, Director, SharePoint Partner Marketing, at Microsoft Corp. "BlueThread's StoragePoint product impressed us with its storage and administration benefits for Microsoft SharePoint Server users and site administrators."

StoragePoint enables companies to relocate SharePoint content BLOBs (Binary Large Objects) to virtually any on-premise storage platform as well as Storage-as-a-Service (SaaS) platforms like Windows Azure BLOB Storage. With the BLOBs relocated, SharePoint content databases are smaller and easier to manage, SharePoint performance improves, and savings are realized by moving content to less expensive tiers of storage.

"We wanted to provide our clients with unprecedented BLOB storage flexibility for both Microsoft SharePoint Server 2007 and 2010," says Rob D'Oria, BlueThread's CTO and co-Founder. "With StoragePoint, clients can leverage almost any storage device including cost-effective tiered capabilities. And with up to 256 bit (AES) encryption and BLOB compression, clients can increase security when required as well as save on storage hardware costs."

D'Oria continues, "Organizations don't have to wait for 2010 in order to realize the benefits of StoragePoint. Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 customers can install StoragePoint within their existing 2007 SharePoint deployment while taking comfort that a no-hassle upgrade to 2010 is already in place."

Customers can download a 30-day trial version of StoragePoint at www.storagepoint.com
