CINCINNATI, Nov. 5 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The South Central Ohio MSDC (SCOMSDC) today released the list of award finalists to be honored at the 37th Anniversary Awards Gala and Silent Auction in West Chester, Ohio on Thursday, November 12. This event, which recognizes the Corporation of the Year and Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) of the Year in two distinct categories, will be held at the Savannah Center in West Chester. The Special Keynote Speaker is Tavis Smiley, host of Tavis Smiley on PBS, and The Tavis Smiley Show from Public Radio International.
"Business is the engine that drives the economy and these award nominees are proof of that," said SCOMSDC President & CEO Ms. Jenea Norris Allen. "In this challenging economy, corporations have a greater incentive to count on minority businesses to deliver great products, cost savings, quality service and innovative solutions. Our annual awards program assures quality in diversity and economic inclusion receives the recognition it deserves."
Minority Business of the Year nominees include:
- Class I (Annual sales less than $1 million): KLEW Company, Phyllon Marketing Communications.
- Class II (Annual sales $1 million to $10 million): Legends To Legacy, Focus Solution Inc., Rod-Techs Inc., Three Leaf, Jostin Concrete Construction, Pegasus Technical Services Inc., Williams Interior Designs, Diversified Facility Solutions, Tes Tech Inc.
- Class III (Annual sales $10 million to $50 million): Hooven-Dayton Corp., UNICON International, World Pac Paper, LLC.
- Class IV (Annual sales more than $50 million): Hightowers Petroleum Company and SBM Site Services.
MBE Legacy Award nominees include: Smoot Construction Company of Ohio and Williams Interior Design.
Buyer of the Year nominees include: AK Steel Corporation, Cardinal Health, Limited Brands, and The Procter & Gamble Company.
Corporation of the Year nominees include: Cardinal Health, Cincinnati Children's Hospital, Cintas Corporation, Duke Energy, Health Alliance, Honda of America, The Kroger Company, Nationwide, Standard Register, The Procter & Gamble Company, Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing NA, and Turner Construction Company.
