BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - (Business Wire) Engineering and construction firm BE&K is supporting flood relief efforts in Cedar Rapids, Iowa with a $10,000 donation to The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation.
“We have strong ties to Iowa and the Cedar Rapids area and we encourage other individuals and companies to come to the aid of this devastated city,” said Brian McDermott, BE&K communications director.
BE&K constructed and served as Weyerhaeuser Company’s joint venture partner in the Cedar River Paper Company in Cedar Rapids.
“We are supporting the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation’s Flood 2008 Fund, which will assist nonprofit organizations who are providing first-response efforts and ongoing recovery and rebuilding throughout Cedar Rapids and Linn County. They are a great organization that is well-positioned to support the immense efforts required,” said McDermott.
