Numerous collector cars slated to be sold at the 39th Annual
Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Scottsdale are on display this
week at the 2009 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show at the Las
Vegas Convention Center. The vehicles include five muscle cars -- a
Richard Petty 2009 Dodge Challenger, a WD-40/SEMA Cares Chevrolet Camaro,
the original 2010 Hurst Ford Mustang Pace Car, the 2009 Classic Design
Concepts Dodge Challenger Group II concept and the "Pay It Forward" 1966
Ford Mustang -- that will be auctioned for charity.
Barrett-Jackson's SEMA display is located inside the General Motors booth
(#23743) and features a pair of classic Chevrolet Corvette Convertibles
that will cross the block in Scottsdale. The SEMA vehicles will be
highlights of the 2010 Scottsdale auction, which will be held at WestWorld
of Scottsdale from Jan. 18-24.
"Barrett-Jackson is well-represented at SEMA by some exceptional Scottsdale
auction vehicles, including five muscle cars that will be sold for
charity," said Craig Jackson, Chairman/CEO of Barrett-Jackson. "For the
first time ever, we are sharing booth space this year with our good friends
and sponsors at GM. They have been strong supporters of our automotive
lifestyle events and we are excited to help them deliver a memorable
experience to the passionate SEMA crowd."
The Richard Petty 2009 Dodge Challenger, featured inside the 3M booth
(#11343), will be auctioned in Scottsdale to benefit the Petty Family
Foundation and the charities it supports. The Hurst Performance booth
(#22343) will be the location of the Hurst Mustang Pace Car. Proceeds from
the powerful pony car will be donated to the Victory Junction Gang Camp.
ChildHelp and Victory Junction Gang will benefit from the sale of the
WD-40/SEMA Cares Camaro, which is on display in the Grand Lobby. CDC's
2009 Dodge Challenger Group II concept, which will be sold in Scottsdale
with a matching Charvel guitar to benefit NotMyKid, will be located in the
CDC booth (#11215). The "Pay It Forward" Mustang, restored by the East
Texas Mustang Club and located in the Scott Drake booth (#24295), will be
sold for the East Texas Crisis Center at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale.
"Charity sales have long been a focus point at Barrett-Jackson," added
Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. "With charitable donations down
worldwide during the economic crunch, we are working harder than ever to
ensure that worthwhile organizations benefit from our events. Car
collectors are some of the most generous people on the planet, and we can't
wait to raise big dollars for these cars in Scottsdale."
Davis will also receive a surprise at SEMA when Sherwin-Williams unveils
one of his personal collector cars complete with a new custom paint job on
Wednesday at 11 a.m. PST. It will be his first glimpse of the car since
handing it over for restoration earlier this year. Barrett-Jackson and
Sherwin-Williams will follow the unveiling with a special announcement.
Additional highlights of the Barrett-Jackson SEMA experience include NASCAR
autograph sessions from Greg Biffle, Clint Bowyer, David Ragan and Martin
Truex Jr. "The King" Richard Petty will also sign autographs alongside the
Petty Challenger inside the 3M booth on Wednesday from 10 a.m.-noon.
