Company to Expand Footprint and Offer iPhone to Customers Throughout the State NASHUA, N.H., June 27
NASHUA, N.H., June 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) is supporting its continued commitment to New Hampshire area customers with the largest wireless network investment in the region since 2005. The company's planned $25 million investment in the state this year will bring the planned four-year New Hampshire investment total to more than $60 million.
AT&T has delivered dramatic change in New Hampshire -- a direct result of the company's continuing efforts to expand and enhance its network operations and the synergies that come from being part of the world's largest communications company.
Part of the 2008 investment plan calls for 17 new cell sites in the state. The planned sites will enhance and expand wireless coverage along Route 202 in Antrim, Bennington, Deering, Hillsborough and Peterborough, as well as near Route 114 in Goffstown, Weare and New Boston. One planned site will bring new coverage to Somersworth. New cell sites are also planned in Londonderry and Pelham along Route 128, in Windham on Route 111 and in Hollis on Route 122. Manchester will receive two new sites -- along Route 93 and 28A. Two other sites are planned for the Nashua area -- one in the southern part of the city and the other in Hudson along Route 3A.
"AT&T is making a substantial commitment to New Hampshire and continues to deliver significant benefits to consumers and businesses across the state," said Michelle Consalvo, vice president, External Affairs for AT&T in New Hampshire. "Our 2008 technology investment delivers on our promise to further innovation that will help grow the state's overall economic well being."
"It is our goal to ensure that AT&T customers in New Hampshire and all over the country have the very best wireless experience possible - which includes great coverage and unsurpassed service," said Steve Krom, vice president and general manager for AT&T's wireless operations in the six New England states. "Our ongoing investment in the New Hampshire network provides our customers with the benefits of a state-of-the-art voice and data network, along with cutting-edge wireless devices -- like the upcoming next-generation iPhone."
In addition to the 17 new sites in New Hampshire, AT&T customers who commute to Massachusetts on a regular basis will benefit from three new sites in Methuen.
Later this year, AT&T will also expand its high speed third-generation (3G) network to 90 additional cell sites, bringing mobile broadband capability to customers in areas of Hillsborough, Merrimack, Rockingham and Strafford counties.
Equally as important as the network is the device through which a customer experiences it. New Hampshire customers in all parts of the state now have access to AT&T's full lineup of exclusive devices and services, including the Apple iPhone, the new LG Vu and the BlackBerry(R) Pearl. Customers can shop online or visit any AT&T company-owned store or authorized retailer.
