LOS GATOS, Calif. - (Business Wire) The Silicon Valley Association of Realtors says that sales of existing homes are showing signs of significant improvement. The drop in market prices is likely nearing an end, indicating that supply may be stabilizing and demand is rising. In many areas outside the overbuilt markets, home prices may stabilize and begin to recover before the end of this year.

In 2007, real estate agents experienced record low transaction volume. The Santa Clara County market bottomed out in January 2008 with just 341 closed single-family home transactions. Since then, closed transaction volume has increased every month with 424 in February, 585 in March, 657 in April, 874 in May and 931 in June.
