PHOENIX - (Business Wire) Arizona State Credit Union celebrated its new branch in Scottsdale, moving into the vibrant Kierland neighborhood. The Grand Opening Event was held on October 15, 2009, and included a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by Scottsdale Mayor W.J. “Jim” Lane and members of the Scottsdale and North Scottsdale Chambers of Commerce. Scottsdale residents and officials all joined in celebrating the new branch located at 6501 E. Greenway Parkway in Scottsdale, Arizona.

“We are so excited to welcome Arizona State Credit Union to Scottsdale,” said Mayor Lane. “It’s marvelous to see a financial institution opening new branches and we’re especially thrilled that Arizona State Credit Union chose Scottsdale. It shows tremendous confidence in our rebounding economy.”

The ribbon cutting ceremony was also attended by Arizona State Credit Union officials, including Executive Vice President of Retail Operations Dean Vigfusson, Senior Vice President of Marketing Paul Stull, Vice President of Retail Banking Debbie Meshey, and Branch Manager Reghan Crow.

“We are so happy to join this community and be of service to our growing membership base in Scottsdale,” said Executive Vice President Vigfusson. “This is a true representation of Arizona State Credit Union’s strength and security. Despite an unstable banking climate, this has been our best year in lending—funding over $200 million in home loans. We are proud to be a strong, stable, reliable lender.”

During the celebration, Arizona State Credit Union associates assisted new members in opening accounts and helped educate new and existing members on the Credit Union’s wide range of personal and business services. They also kicked off an exciting promotion supporting the Grand Opening: the Credit Union will be giving away seven shopping sprees totaling $11,000. Members who open a Free Checking Account before November 20, 2009, are eligible to win the drawing.

With the opening of their new Scottsdale location, Arizona State Credit Union extends its growing network of branches, each dedicated to providing excellent financial services to the people of Arizona.
