SUNNYVALE, Calif. - (Business Wire) Ariba, Inc. (NASDAQ: ARBA), the leading spend management solutions provider, today announced that Ariba LIVE 2008 is headed to Brussels for a command performance. Building upon a successful event in Las Vegas earlier this month, the premier conference for business leaders tasked with shaping and creating spending strategies that enhance corporate performance and competitive advantage will celebrate spend management and the individuals and companies who have transformed it from a tactical function to a strategic business imperative. The conference will be held at the Hotel Le Plaza, Brussels on June 10 and will provide European executives with access to strategies and tactics they can leverage to forge ahead with spend management initiatives and deliver results.

As the global economy grows increasingly volatile, it is imperative that European business leaders take decisive action to minimize risk and gain competitive advantage, said Mike Arenth, General Manager, EMEA, Ariba. Ariba LIVE is a unique forum through which executives from across functions and industries can gain insight into solutions and best-practice processes that reduce costs and increase profits and network with those who are implementing them successfully to deliver results.

Driving Business Goals

A decade ago, spend management was viewed as a rogue concept. Today, it is a strategic business imperative being deployed by companies around the world. At Ariba LIVE, attendees will hear from executives and industry thought leaders on the state of spend management and its ability to drive business transformation during keynote presentations delivered on mainstage. Juan Carlos Montejano Dominguez, Worldwide Director of Purchasing Processes at Telefonica SA, will discuss how his organization has pioneered spend management to drive a more efficient procurement process that delivers measurable results. And Bob Tarzey, Service Director at Quocirca Ltd., will provide an overview of the market for on-demand spend management solutions and the benefits that they can deliver.

Attendees will also be able to participate in interactive breakout sessions designed to provide practical, actionable strategies they can use to fuel their own spend management initiatives and results. The sessions will be led by practitioners with leading organizations such as:

  • AstraZeneca Plc
  • ENEL SpA
  • The Doncasters Group
  • Aviva Plc
  • Solvay
  • Sonoco Products Company

Ariba executives will also be on hand to discuss the future of spend management and help participants understand the strategies and solutions that will drive it forward. For more information on Ariba LIVE Brussels, or to register, please visit www.aribalive.com.
