SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Sept. 2 MI-ANXeBusiness-acqui
SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- ANXeBusiness Corp. has acquired
the Virtual Private Network (VPN) division of Positive Networks, Inc. --
including its flagship product, PositivePRO(TM) -- and will merge that
business in a move designed to strengthen the ANX virtual private network
(VPN) product line for customers in multiple vertical markets.
Positive Networks is a leading provider of managed VPN and end-point
security products and services, which are designed to provide remote office
capabilities for end-users and IT departments and enable employees to connect
to their company's local area network (LAN) and intranet. ANX also strengthens
its software and programming capabilities through the Positive Networks VPN
development team, which also is part of the acquisition.
"Combining the VPN products and services from Positive Networks with the
existing ANX Managed Network Services portfolio fits our strategy of growing
our VPN capabilities and expanding our business into new vertical markets,"
said Rich Stanbaugh, president and CEO of ANXeBusiness. "ANX now can offer
customers a range of products in the managed VPN services area, which is
rapidly becoming a sector of the technology market that companies are looking
for trusted expertise in."
Positive Networks has received numerous industry awards and accolades for
its managed SSL VPN service for small and medium sized businesses. PositivePRO
-- recognized by several leading technology publications as an industry-best
product -- is a complete VPN service that provides customers with everything
required for employees to connect to a corporate LAN or intranet from a remote
location in a secure manner. Using SSL technology for encryption, private data
sharing applications are available at an affordable price and are more secure
than competitive products such as Internet VPN offerings. PositivePRO supports
hundreds of security applications, including Symantec, McAfee, Avira and
Microsoft, and seamlessly integrates with PhoneFactor for two-factor
authentication.
Customers who are using PositivePRO range from Major League Baseball and
Cerner Medical, to other enterprises in the healthcare, government and
education industries.
"This transaction represents an excellent opportunity for both companies
to accelerate growth of their key lines of business," said Tim Sutton, CEO and
founder of Positive Networks. "Market adoption of Positive Networks'
PhoneFactor(TM) authentication service has increased rapidly since its release
just over a year ago. For Positive Networks, it will sharpen our focus on the
PhoneFactor authentication service which is gaining significant traction in
the marketplace."
The recently completed transaction combines the VPN clients, assets and
trademarks of Positive Networks with those of ANX. This marks the third
acquisition ANX has made within the last two years, including the purchases of
Management Information Systems Group (MISG) in December 2006 and Virtual
Services, Inc. in July 2007. Positive Networks will retain its PhoneFactor
line of business and all associated clients, assets, and trademarks.
ANXeBusiness Inc. ( http://www.anx.com ), headquartered in Southfield,
Mich., has offices in Research Triangle Park, N.C., Philadelphia, PA,
Cleveland, OH, San Diego, CA and Toronto. It provides a range of Managed
Network Service, Transaction Delivery Service, and Product Lifecycle
Management (PLM) products and services for customers in the automotive
original equipment and aftermarket industries, as well as the financial and
aerospace industries and other manufacturing sectors.

services, including the award-winning PhoneFactor two-factor authentication
services. Its products and services are trusted by leading companies in the

I have to agree with Gary, it's amazing that you get LogMeIn and phone factor free of charge.
The ease of use that LogMeIn provides esp. for someone like me who is away from home a lot and then the extra layer of security that PhoneFactor provides is so so amazing. I wouldn't want shareholders demanding more profit or anything else to take away that kind of level of free service.

Consumer products too

Well, bad thing about going public is you suddenly have to answer to lots of external parties. I've never used the corporate versions of PhoneFactor or LogMeIn. I just use the free consumer versions and together they have made it possible for me to work from home a little more often.

I wish PhoneFactor would go public. We use it for remote access with LogMeIn and it's one of the coolest products I have used.
