BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., June 11 /PRNewswire/ -- The Jonsson Cancer Center
Foundation at UCLA, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising private
funds for highest priority cancer research, hosts its 13th annual Taste for a
Cure, Saturday, June 21, at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. FOX Broadcasting
Company President of Entertainment Kevin Reilly receives the Gil Nickel
Humanitarian Award. Jimmy Kimmel hosts the event and 2008 "American Idol"
winner David Cook performs. Event co-chairs are Barbara Fairchild -
Editor-in-Chief, Bon Appetit magazine, Jon Holman - President, The Holman
Group, Stephen McPherson - President, Entertainment, ABC and Jay Sures -
Partner and Board Member, United Talent Agency.
Taste for a Cure, a luxurious wine and food tasting reception followed by
a seated dinner features the creations of award-winning chefs selected to
prepare the tasting menu and dinner. This year's chefs are Lee Hefter and Ari
Rosenson of CUT; Joachim Splichal of Nick & Stef's; and Paul Villa and Nick
Kislo of BOA Steakhouse. Participating vineyards include Au Bon Climat,
Beaulieu Vineyard, Dolce Winery, Far Niente, Nickel & Nickel and Terrabianca.
The Gil Nickel Humanitarian Award was created in memory of Jonsson Cancer
Center Foundation event supporter Gil Nickel, proprietor of Napa Valley's Far
Niente, Nickel & Nickel and Dolce wineries, who lost a courageous battle
against melanoma in October 2003. The Award was established to honor key
individuals for their humanitarian efforts, community involvement and
commitment to philanthropy.
Kevin Reilly was named President, Entertainment for FOX in July 2007. He
is responsible for all primetime series and development, late-night
programming and creative strategy for the network. Reilly joined FOX from NBC,
where he served as President, Entertainment. Throughout his career, Reilly
has distinguished himself by developing and supervising some of the most
successful programming in recent TV history including "Heroes," "30 Rock," "My
Name is Earl," Emmy Award-winning "The Office," and "ER;" HBO's "The
Sopranos;" FX's "The Shield" and "Nip/Tuck." A graduate of Cornell University,
he lives in Pacific Palisades with his wife Cristin, and three sons.
