Canadian Entrepreneur Teams up with The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada

Niagara Falls, ON (PRWEB) November 5, 2009 -- Canadian entrepreneur Jennifer Blakeley has teamed up with The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada to support the charity’s Ontario chapter.

Starting now (until the end of December), customers who purchase Alphabet Photography (AP) framed art through www.AlphabetPhotography.com using the promo code ‘WISHONTARIO’ will receive $10 off their order, and more importantly 10% of the sale will directly benefit Children’s Wish. Alphabet Photography sells pictures of objects and scenery that resemble letters of the English Alphabet. The alphabet photos are then customized to spell words and names chosen by the customer.

“The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada is a charity near and dear to my heart,” says Blakeley “I am happy to support and raise money for this very deserving charity. The monies raised from this initiative will go a long way in helping hundreds of children to realize their dream.”

Children’s Wish grants heart-felt wishes to children suffering from life-threatening illnesses. “For more than 25 years, we have been creating special moments of joy into the lives of children across the country,“ says Sandi Hancox, Ontario chapter director. “This year, we expect to grant nearly 250 wishes to children in the province of Ontario alone. We could not do this without the help of our wonderful supporters, such as Jennifer and Alphabet Photography.”

Blakeley spent three years traveling across Canada with one goal in mind - to collect photographs of objects and scenery that resemble letters of the English alphabet. Her project was inspired by a children's book called "Alphabet City" and her passion led her to create her now-thriving business, Alphabet Photography™ Inc.

“Through my travels I was able to photograph hundreds of alphabet letters, found completely in their natural surroundings. A bridge became the letter ‘T”, an arm on a park bench a “G” and railway tracks an “E”,” said Blakeley.

Once Blakeley had photographed several variations from A to Z, she returned home from her travels and and imagined the possibility of using her photographs to create custom name art to spell words and names that were special to each individual customer. Her unique alphabet art has become a very popular gift solution in the recent years.

“Everyone wants to own art that is one of a kind and special to the individual. I felt I could do this in an affordable and creative way through my alphabet photographs” she added.

Upon finalization of a business plan, Blakeley began with the launch of Alphabet Photography’s website, allowing customers to mix and match the alphabet photos to create unique alphabet art. Following two thriving years, Alphabet Photography™ Inc. is now a successfully trademarked company in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom, with a customer base from around the globe. Alphabet Photography’s work is also endorsed by several top Canadian Designers. A recent customized piece was created for Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

Blakeley has toured across Canada over the past three months adding to the Alphabet Photography collection. Tour stops have included Halifax, Edmonton and Ottawa. While in Ottawa, Blakeley was given a private tour of Parliament and also had the chance to meet Canada’s Minister of Justice, the Honourable Rob Nicholson. The successful entrepreneur plans to travel to Vancouver in the near future to add to the Alphabet Photography collection.

In addition to all of the traveling the past few months, Alphabet Photography was recently featured on Ryan Seacrest’s Los Angeles Radio Show, Breakfast Television in Halifax, the Syndicated television program Steven & Chris Show, CityLine, Chatelaine Magazine and A Channel News. AP was also featured in “O” magazine, which boasts an average paid circulation of over 2.7 million people. Most recently, AP partnered up for a charitable initiative with international singing sensation, Nelly Furtado.

The company’s letter photos have become popular gifts at weddings, baby showers and housewarmings. Each 4x6 photograph sells for $5 and can be purchased through their website or at any of their exhibit locations. Pre-framed inspirational words are also available at major retail chains such as Sears, Target Stores USA, Avon, Homesense Meijer and other gift and retail shops across Canada and the USA.
