ATLANTA - (Business Wire) The Alliance for Digital Equality today announced the appointment of Ms. Harriette Haynes, Chief Information Officer for Florida Memorial University, to its Board of Advisors. Ms. Haynes is a seasoned professional with more than 20 years of progressive experience in the design, development and deployment of large technology projects in the education, utility and entertainment arenas. Her background includes extensive knowledge of Financial/Banking Systems, Data Analysis, Web-based (Portal) systems, Project Management and various methodologies in consulting and corporate settings.

Ms. Haynes knows the importance of having access to affordable Broadband and Wi-Fi Technologies and has witnessed the positive and enriching impact this access can have on today’s communities, especially the underserved. She says, “You cannot function efficiently and effectively in today’s society without access to advanced technologies, being able to utilize a computer has the same benefits as knowing how to read and write, you have access to a whole new world.”

In addition to her current role at Florida Memorial, Ms. Haynes has held various leadership positions supporting and managing projects for companies such as Bank of America, Walt Disney World Resort, AT&T, Citicorp Information Resources, General Electric and the University System of Georgia, where she won awards for successful project implementation and was a key player in completing and giving direction to projects, streamlining operations and enhancing productivity.

Ms. Haynes is a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI), Advisory Council for United Negro College Fund (UNCF), Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce (Technology Committee), Business Advisory Council, National Association for Female Executives, and past recognition as Business Woman of the Year (2004).
