LONDON, Feb. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Alfresco Software, Inc., the leader in open source enterprise content management solutions, today announced the winners of its 2007 Annual Content Excellence Awards. The debut year for the awards program recognizes its top partners and contributors in the categories of Partner of the Year, Content Management and Collaboration Implementation of the Year, and Contributor of the Year, in Europe and North America.
"Alfresco decided to create this awards program in order to recognize and praise top partners, customers and community members that are working with us to help advance and innovate in the field of content management," said John Powell, CEO of Alfresco Software. "We are pleased to honor those that have helped contribute to the Alfresco core and to improve and extend our software."

The winners of the Alfresco Content Excellence Awards include: Content Management and Collaboration Implementation of the Year
Endeca, an information access software company, was recognized for Alfresco Content Management and Collaboration Implementation of the Year. Endeca faced the challenge of creating an interactive online community for its employees, customers and partners. This challenge was solved by partnering with Optaros to create and build the Endeca Developer Network (EDeN) portal (http://eden.endeca.com/) -- the key online community destination for its developer network -- which used Alfresco software to combine technical documents, best practices, tools and utilities, code samples, case studies and other information.
"The Endeca Community programs connect hundreds of users through regional meetings and the annual user event, Discover. To support our growth we needed a way to collaborate with tens of thousands," said Colby Dyess, Endeca community director. "Working with Optaros to integrate Alfresco and the Endeca Information Access Platform, we were able to instantly share years of knowledge and experience. As a result, community membership is in the thousands and participation is 400 times all previous years combined. This award further demonstrates the value of remaining focused on your users."
International Partner of the Year
Optaros, the enterprise-class provider of user-centered solutions powered by Alfresco, has led the largest scale enterprise content management deployments of Alfresco and the most innovative web content management solutions (see Endeca). Through this work, Optaros has developed deep expertise in enterprise-scale requirements such as clustering, high availability and managed migrations. Optaros' user experience team has assembled compelling Web 2.0 applications powered by Alfresco. Optaros has numerous reference deployments in the U.S., Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, and has published case studies of the Federal Supreme Court of Switzerland, Endeca, Swisscom Mobile Labs and State of Vaud.
"We are honored to be recognized as the International Partner of the Year," said Marc Osofsky, vice president, marketing, Optaros. "The award reflects tremendous work done by dozens of our consultants using our OptAM process to implement enterprise scale solutions that have quickly transformed what is possible into what is proven."
North American Partner of the Year
Rivet Logic, an open source enterprise content management and portal expert, has once again shown an unsurpassed commitment to Alfresco. The company has led several significant Alfresco projects around the United States, including cutting-edge work on http://www.kaptest.com/. Rivet has also continued to support Alfresco with both marketing investments and technical contributions through the Forum and elsewhere.
European Partner of the Year
Amplexor, one of the first members of the Alfresco SI Partner network in Europe, implemented a number of successful Alfresco projects with both public and private sector clients in Belgium during 2007. They continue to enhance their extensive Alfresco skills by expanding their expertise and training from Document Management to Web Content Management projects. Amplexor has also supported Alfresco's marketing efforts by hosting content management events featuring keynote presentations by John Newton.
European Contributor of the Year
Alfresco partner Atol Conseils et Developpement, a French company that develops solutions for collaborative work and content management, won for its contribution of Category Navigation, which will be integrated into the Alfresco Enterprise core going forward. Atol CD has shown unwavering support through numerous contributions and improvements to the Alfresco core.
North American Contributor of the Year
In North America, Jeff Potts, a seasoned content management consultant and ECM practice lead for Optaros, was named Alfresco Contributor of the Year. Jeff has worked with clients to assemble content-enabled Next Generation Internet solutions using open source software and open standards. Not only has Jeff been a valuable contributor to the forums and the developer site wiki, but he also hosts http://www.ecmarchitect.com/, a personal Web site with educational and insightful material that shows users how to build upon Alfresco's ECM offerings.
The Alfresco Content Excellence Awards will be presented to the winners at the Alfresco Community Conferences in San Jose, Calif. (March 12) and Barcelona, Spain (April 22). For more details, visit: http://www.alfresco.com/about/events/
