(EMAILWIRE.COM, October 30, 2009 ) LONDON, UK. – October 29, 2009 – Alfresco Software, the leader in open source enterprise content management (ECM), was today one of only two vendors, alongside Sun Microsystems, able to boast the recognition of two of its employees on the MindTouch “Most Influential People in Open Source” list.
As voted by 50 C- and VP-level open source executives across Europe and North America, John Powell, CEO and Matt Asay, VP Business Development, were highlighted among a group of well-known industry luminaries from Red Hat, Sugar CRM and MySQL.
The top 25 list was generated as part of MindTouch’s 2009 open source best practices research, counting more than 50 votes from senior executives who were allowed to vote only for those outside of their own organization.
“We’re extremely flattered that open source industry insiders have named two of our key executives to MindTouch’s impressive list of open source innovators,” commented Ian Howells, CMO, Alfresco Software. “Both John and Matt play a significant role in educating the wider market about the benefits of open source software, and this recognition further highlights Alfresco’s position as a critical driver of open source adoption across a range of markets.”
