SEATTLE - (Business Wire) Airbiquity Inc. (www.airbiquity.com) today announced the hiring of Ralf Hug as Airbiquitys new vice president of product management and marketing. As a key member of Airbiquitys executive management team, Hug will lead Airbiquity marketing and product management duties for its product and services portfolio in the automotive telematics and portable navigation device (PND) business.

Prior to Airbiquity, Hug was VP of Marketing for NAVIGON where he was responsible for launching the company and its corporate branding strategy, helping to propel the NAVIGON brand to a #4 market position within six months. He was responsible for launching several innovative GPS products while managing strategic planning and analysis, product management and marketing for NAVIGONs consumer electronics, automotive and wireless business in North America.

Previously, Hug held a senior marketing and management position at Garmin International where he was responsible for launching several navigation devices worldwide. Previous to that, Hug managed the Accessories and Telematics business for Mercedes-Benz USA where his responsibilities included product management, marketing and sales, launching several innovative programs such as the iPod integration kit and satellite radio, as well as managing the TeleAid Telematics offering. Additional positions held during his career include senior marketing and management roles at Philips Electronics in the US and Europe and other major technology companies.

Ralfs visions for the connected car and connected PND are indicative of the thought leadership we like to demonstrate here at Airbiquity, said Kamyar Moinzadeh, Airbiquity president and CEO. Couple this with his extensive industry experience and it is clear why we are excited to have him join our team.

Hug holds a Masters of Business Administration in marketing and finance from the University of Bayreuth in Germany, and regularly speaks at global industry events.
