SOMERSET, NJ -- 05/27/08 --
AEP Networks today announced that its AEP
Netilla SSL VPN appliance earned Secure Sockets Layer-Transport Layer
Security (SSL-TLS) VPN Version 3.0 Certification from ICSA Labs. This
prestigious certification is reserved for products that meet ICSA Labs'
demanding security standards for products implementing SSL-TLS for data
confidentiality, authentication, and integrity assurance for inter-network
transactions. This accomplishment marks the latest of AEP's ongoing
certification efforts, including previous ICSA Labs certifications for
Netilla, demonstrating a commitment to their customers' need for highly
secure and highly available applications.
The ICSA Labs SSL-TLS VPN Certification program is an independent and
comprehensive process that rigorously tests, assesses and validates SSL-TLS
VPNs in a simulated, real-world environment. Testing criteria are publicly
posted for review and comment by industry groups, industry experts and end
users, including a consortium of SSL-TLS VPN product vendors.
Version 3.0 of the ICSA Labs SSL-TLS certification testing features
significant changes in functional, security, and cryptographic
requirements, including:
-- Cache cleaning testing to ensure that end-users are protected from
sensitive data disclosure, even in the case of abnormal session termination
-- Stronger and more updated ciphersuites (AES)
-- Enhanced logging, certificate management and validation, configuration
persistence, and client requirements
These robust criteria changes offer AEP Networks users greater assurance
that their sensitive data is protected.
"ICSA Labs certification for SSL VPNs is one of the most comprehensive
programs of its kind, providing a valuable service to buyers during the
evaluation process," stated Howard Pressman, Director of Product Management
at AEP Networks. "Our long-standing work with ICSA Labs helps ensure our
customers have peace of mind that they are deploying a highly reliable
network infrastructure that meets today's rigorous security standards."
