SAN JOSE, Calif. - (Business Wire) Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) and Knowledge Network Solutions, Inc. (KNS) today announced they will work together to offer professional development courses for K-12 and higher education faculty. The companies will provide on-site professional development to schools to help educators leverage Adobe software across the curricula as well as in vocational courses.

As part of the offering, KNS has developed four two-day workshops that emphasize the use of Adobe® Creative Suite® 4 and Adobe Digital School Collection across academic disciplines. The courses include Inspiring Environmental Action Through Graphic Design, Inspiring Environmental Action Through Web Design, Inspiring Environmental Action Through Video Production, and Inspiring Environmental Action Through Photo, Video, Audio and Web Media. In addition to the two-day courses, KNS has also developed a one-day course on enabling institutions and districts to conduct their own staff development using Adobe Acrobat® Connect™ Pro and Presenter®. Each course is offered on-site at school campuses and is led by KNS technology integration specialists.

“Digital skills are essential for living and working in the 21st century,” said Bob Regan, director of K-12 education at Adobe. “By working with KNS to deliver courses to the Adobe education community, we are helping to ensure that teachers are well grounded in instruction techniques for building their students’ digital skills and reinforcing those skills across academic disciplines.”

“At KNS we are focused on helping fellow educators throughout the U.S. and the greater global community to lead their students toward increased critical thinking, improved communication, creation and innovation using Adobe’s excellent software as a tool for learning,” said Lloyd Spruill, vice president of KNS. “Rather than focusing on individual products, our courses integrate these tools as needed for science, technology, engineering and math related problems.”
