NEW CASTLE, Ind. - (Business Wire) Jerome J. Gassen, President and Chief Executive Officer of Ameriana Bancorp (NASDAQ:ASBI), the holding company for Ameriana Bank, today announced that Deborah C. Robinson has been named the Bank's Senior Vice President
– Retail Banking and Chief Marketing Officer. She will report to Timothy G. Clark, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
In her new position, Robinson will lead the retail division’s strategies to expand and retain existing bank relationships, develop and support new retail product offerings, and direct the bank’s retail growth and expansion initiatives, which is expected to result in enhanced customer and shareholder value.
In addition, Robinson will be responsible for the development and execution of marketing strategies to support the Ameriana brand, including the consistency of the brand experience across all delivery channels.

Gassen added that Robinson will play a key role in Ameriana’s efforts to expand its presence in the greater Indianapolis area. On January 9, 2008, Ameriana announced its expansion plans to open a Fishers banking center at 11521 Olio Road in an existing bank facility. When it opens in September 2008, this will be Ameriana's fifth location in the greater Indianapolis area.
Robinson joins Ameriana from Old National Bancorp in Indianapolis, where she was most recently Vice President of Marketing for the Indianapolis, Louisville and Michiana Regions. At Old National, she was responsible for implementing the Bank’s sales, marketing and public relations initiatives, analyzing market and customer data to acquire and expand client relationships, leveraging sponsorships to increase in-branch traffic to support sales opportunities and developing new product packaging, merchandising and sales strategies for retail promotions.
Prior to her tenure with Old National, Robinson was Vice President, Director of Marketing for American National Bank in Muncie, Indiana. She has also held marketing positions with BKD and the Muncie Visitors Bureau. She received a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Marketing from Ball State University. She serves on the Board for the Journalism Alumni Society at Ball State University and is a member of the East Central Indiana Advertising Federation. Her approach to advertising design and executive has won her numerous Addy awards at both the state and regional levels as well as Maxi awards from the Indiana Bankers Association.
