BELLEVILLE, Mich. - (Business Wire) Active Aero Group (AAG) has been recognized by Ford Motor Company as a top supplier whose support has helped the automaker maintain smooth, efficient plant operations. The Belleville, Michigan-based on-demand transportation management company received a Silver Award for air charter logistics as part of Ford's 10
th Annual World Excellence Awards. In all, 47 suppliers worldwide were recognized.
First distributed in 1998, the World Excellence Awards were jointly developed by Ford and its suppliers. The gold and silver awards are presented to Ford's top production and non-production suppliers that consistently demonstrate superior quality, delivery and cost performance. The World Excellence Awards also recognize suppliers who embrace Ford's vision of profitable growth, teamwork and a better world.
"It is a pleasure to recognize the technical excellence of our supplier partners," said Ford president and CEO Alan Mulally. "As we work together to deliver the products and services people really want and value, we are more fully integrating our suppliers into our processes."
More than 10 years ago, Active Aero, in conjunction with Ford, developed the air charter industry's most widely accepted Internet-procurement tool, CharterNet, and its follow on technology APT. These transportation management tools provide Ford visible solutions to options around time, delivery, cost, and provider quality across several transportation modes.
The systems produced an average on-time performance of 97 percent over the last three years and more than $52 million in charter cost avoidance over the past five years.
"We are extremely pleased and proud to be recognized as a top supplier by Ford," said Christopher Healy, President of Active Aero Group. "Their focus on high standards for excellence is an ongoing challenge that we welcome, and Ford's collaborative spirit helps us reach new heights of achievement."
