Accenture Ranked No. 38 on DiversityInc's ''Top 50 Companies''

NEW YORK - (Business Wire) For the second year in a row, Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has been named one of DiversityIncs Top 50 Companies for Diversity in recognition of the companys continued commitment to diversity. The magazine, which focuses on diversity and the bottom line, recognizes U.S. companies annually for best practices in diversity.

Accenture first appeared on the list in 2007 at number 50 and, this year, is ranked number 38. In both 2005 and 2006, Accenture was recognized on DiversityIncs 25 Noteworthy Companies list.

DiversityIncs Top 50 Companies for Diversity evaluates companies dedication to diversity in the following areas: CEO commitment, human capital, corporate and organizational communications and supplier diversity. The rankings are based on a rigorous survey comprising more than 200 questions, which focus on company policies and programs in diversity as well as workforce statistics. Companies are also evaluated within their own industries, geographies and employee skill sets.

According to DiversityInc, the list reflects the corporate worlds increasing recognition of the importance of good diversity management throughout all aspects of business, as well as its importance to increasing profitability. For-profit companies with at least 1,000 employees in the United States were eligible to be considered.

Competition for the ranking continues to grow. This year, 352 companies submitted applications up 10 percent from last year and 100 percent over five years ago.
