Los Angeles - Seminal country-rock band The Eagles are to release their first album in 28 years, according to an announcement Thursday by their record label Universal. One of the best-selling bands of all time, The Eagles will release The Long Road From Eden at the end of October.

The band, composed of Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B Schmidt, has sold more than 120 million records worldwide including their Greatest Hits 1971-75, which is one of the best selling albums of all time with 29 million copies sold.

Most famous for hits like Hotel California and Life In The Fast Lane, they last released a collection of new material, The Long Run, in 1979. The band split in 1980 but reunited for live shows in 1994.

Justin Timberlake gets Jessica Biel and new movie

Los Angeles - Singer Justin Timberlake and actress Jessica Biel are now an official couple after being spotted coming out of a New York restaurant holding hands and smooching, the celebrity website TMZ reported Thursday.

Biel is the latest famous conquest for Timberlake, whose previous girlfriends have included Cameron Diaz and Britney Spears.

News of the new relationship coincided with reports that Timberlake is to take a leading role in the new Mike Myers comedy The Love Guru.

Timberlake, who was part of the voice ensemble led by Myers in the blockbuster summer hit Shrek the Third, will play Jacques Grande, a professional hockey player. Also appearing in the movie are Jessica Alba, Romany Malco and Verne Troyer.

The Love Guru will feature Myers as an American who was left at the gates of an ashram in India as a child and raised by gurus. He moves back to the US to seek fame and fortune in the world of self-help and spirituality, and must settle a love triangle between two hockey players and one of their wives to help the team win the coveted Stanley Cup.

Timberlake's previous screen credits include Alpha Dog and Black Snake Moan.

Britney rumours fly

Los Angeles - New day, new Britney Spears speculation. The latest rumours flying around Hollywood about the unsettled pop star are that she is planning to follow Madonna and move to London to ensure that she keeps her two kids in the custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline.

OK magazine also reported that the troubled former pop princess had taken to driving the young sons around Los Angeles aimlessly, and has warned Federline that if he keeps up the aggressive custody battle she will take them out the country.

Moynahan has baby from ex-football star boyfriend

Los Angeles - Actress and model Bridget Moynahan has given birth to her first baby, People magazine reported Thursday.

Moynahan, 36, announced in February that she was expecting her first child with her ex-boyfriend and star of American football - New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

The couple split in December after a three-year relationship with Brady, 30, who is currently dating model Gisele Bundchen.

On Monday, Brady called impending fatherhood "a very joyous, happy situation," and on Wednesday he was missing from practise, according to the Boston Globe.

While the Patriots declined official comment on Brady's whereabouts, reports said that he flew by private jet to Los Angeles where he was seen at the Santa Monica hospital where Moynahan gave birth.

Paris Hilton settles 10 million defamation suit

Los Angeles - Celebrity hotel heiress Paris Hilton has settled a 10-million-dollar defamation lawsuit with jewelry heiress Zeta Graff.

Graff, who for two years reportedly dated Greek shipping heir Paris Latsis - Hilton's former fiancé - contended in her suit that Hilton spread "vicious lies" about her to the New York Post.

The paper reported on July 2, 2005, that Graff went "berserk" in a London nightclub, tried to strangle Hilton and attempted to steal her diamond necklace.

Hilton, whose relationship with the shipping heir subsequently hit the rocks, denied that she was the hidden hand behind the report. Details of the settlement remain confidential.

David Schwimmer to star in political thriller

Los Angeles - Former Friends star David Schwimmer is joining the cast of the political thriller Nothing but the Truth, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The movie, directed by Rod Lurie also stars includes Kate Beckinsale, Matt Dillon, Vera Farmiga, Edie Falco and Alan Alda.

Written by Lurie, the story centres on a female newspaper reporter (Beckinsale) who outs a CIA agent and is imprisoned for refusing to reveal her source. The film is modelled on the true story of the exposing of CIA agent Valerie Plame.

Schwimmer will play Beckinsale's husband, who initially supports his wife's decision not to name names but as time goes by begins to resent her for choosing a principle over her family.

You have his name spelled wrong. There is no "d" in Schmit. Also, Universal is distributing & marketing their album internationally - the Eagles have no label.
