Ventriloquist Terry Fator was named as the winner of NBC's America's Got Talent on Tuesday after successfully downing stiff challenges from Cas Haley, Antoinette Clinton and Julienne Irwin.
Fator, who hails from Dallas, celebrated his victory by performing the Roy Orbison's "Crying" even as confetti rained down on him. Fator will be receiving $1 million as prize money and will also be able to realize his dream of performing in Las Vegas.
Irwin was the first contestant to be drop out of the race in a thrilling 2-hour finale. However the 14-year old did not seem to be too disappointed and withdrew gracefully.
Next to go was Clinton and host Jerry Springer lauded her performance on the show saying, "I promise you--save a tape. Ten years from now, you will continue to be a huge star in America. You have talent; you really, really have talent."
Each of the contestants put up a gig with celebrity partners. While Haley partnered UB40, Fator was paired with Kermit the Frog and Irwin with Taylor Swift. Judge Piers Morgan made it to the finals even though there were doubts over his appearance after he broke his ribs over the weekend.
