Tehran - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Saturday resumed his ant-Israeli rhetoric by terming the Jewish government the "flag of Satan.""The Zionist regime (Israel) is the flag of Satan and flag-holder for aggression and occupation," Ahmadinejad said at a religious meeting in Tehran.
Iran has for the last 27 years branded the United States the "Great Satan" due to the alleged US enmity for Islam and Muslims and further charged Washington of being the main sponsor of what Tehran calls "Zionist crimes" in the Middle East.
The term "flag of Satan" links Israel to the US and their joint policies in the Arabic world.
Ahmadinejad once again predicted the imminent collapse of Israel.
Since he assumed the presidency in August 2005, Ahmadinejad has several times launched verbal attacks against Israel, including a call for the eradication of Israel from the Islamic world, the relocation of the Jewish state to Europe and North Korea.
He has also called the Holocaust a "fairy tale."
