OSLO, Norway, Aug. 13 Pressure is growing for Norway's Princess Martha Louise to give up her title to erase what some consider an improper mix of rank with her psychic instruction.
An editorial in Monday's Bergens Tidende questioned the appropriateness of princess' new business -- in which she said she will teach students to contact angels --- and criticized the princess for "earning money on her princess title."
Aftenposten also carried an editorial noting how problematic the princess' business ventures have become.
The princess, who has said she is clairvoyant, blamed the country's media for the controversy. Aftenposten reported. During a weekend broadcast on Norwegian Broadcasting, the princess called the criticism "bullying," adding that if she'd attempted such a venture centuries ago, "I'd probably have been burned at the stake."
She said she sees angels "around everyone," and did not see a conflict with using her position in promotional material for her angel school.
She admitted she can understand others having problems with her duties as a royal and as a businesswoman.
"I have a role as princess, and I understand that many are provoked when I move out of that role," she said.
