Gravedigger crushed by container of earth

GUDMUNTORP, Sweden, Aug. 9 A Swedish gravedigger died after a dumpster full of freshly dug earth slid into an open grave.

The man was trapped under the container, The Local reported. A colleague managed to escape.

The accident occurred at around noon Wednesday in Gudmuntorp, Skane, in southern Sweden.

The weight of the container and dirt was estimated at 3 tons. Stefan Fardig, a local emergency services administrator, said the death was being treated as a workplace accident and was under investigation.
