It isn't infidelity, drugs or alcoholism, or money problems that's hurting pop star Madonna's marriage to Guy Ritchie. Rather, it's an innocent little board game called Scrabble that's proving injurious to the 48-year-old
Like a Virgin songstress' marriage.
During the
Confessions on the Dance Floor tour, Madonna and her 38-year-old hubby spent considerably time cooped up in their hotel room, doing not what's expected of them but playing Scrabble. And Madonna creates a racket every time hubby dearest puts together a few words better than she does.
“Madonna doesn't like losing at anything. She and Guy were taking on each other every night at Scrabble and Madonna was taking it far too seriously. The atmosphere was so intense and she was such a sore loser that he told her he wouldn't play her again,” a source close to the couple was quoted as saying.
To ease the sulks, the couple tried other games, with similar results. “They started playing Trivial Pursuit but it only made matters worse. Even Tiddlywinks could start World War III,” the source added.
If Madonna and Guy were to split up because of a particularly intense game of chess, how would Lourdes and Rocco explain it to their classmates? 'Daddy mated the king and mommy just packed her bags and us and left.' If things continue the way they are, the two kids may develop a morbid fear of board games. Are you listening, Maddy?
