PASADENA - Eva Longoria has confirmed that she will quit television once Desperate Housewives ends. The 31-year-old actress said she loved the TV, but when the Housewives series ends, so will her television career.
"I would never leave `Desperate Housewives,'" Longoria was quoted by The Associated Press. "I love doing both (TV and film), but I would never do another TV show after `Desperate Housewives.' No." She added that although she loved every minute of playing Gabrielle Solis on the ABC series, she wanted to concentrate on the silver screen.
"I really want to do more films instead of TV. I want to play strong women. I would love to do a romantic comedy next - I love actors like Vince Vaughan, Jim Carrey, Matthew McConaughey and Hugh Grant," she clarified.
Eva has already completed shooting for The Sentinel, with Michael Douglas and has also started shooting her next movie How I Met My Boyfriend's Dead Fiancée. The film is due for a 2007 release. She is currently shooting the third season of the hit series Desperate Housewives, which begins on September 24.
