Lindsay Lohan's orange Hermes handbag has been found and been returned intact to her without anything missing, Scotland Yard has said.

Declining to give names, the British police said the handbag was found at Heathrow Airport in London on Thursday. “A handbag handed in earlier has been returned to its owner. The owner has been informed that no property was taken, and the item is being treated as recovered lost property. We're pleased to report that's the end of it,” a spokesperson for the department said.

The expensive handbag contained pieces of jewelry, Lohan's passport, cash, a cashmere sweater, her asthma medication and other things, which totaled more over US$1 million. The 20-year-old actress, in Europe to promote her new film Bobby, found her bag missing when she checked her luggage while stepping out of a terminal. “(The) theft of a bag at Heathrow Airport was reported to police by a 20-year-old woman. It is alleged that as the woman exited the Terminal One building she noticed that an orange Hermes handbag was missing from her suitcase trolley,” a police spokesperson said.

It is reported that Lohan was distraught at the thought of losing the bag. “She is begging for the return of the items. She doesn't care how she gets them back, she just wants her stuff back,” her publicist Leslie Sloane Zelnik said before the handbag was recovered.

A Good Samaritan found it at the Heathrow Airport car park and returned it to the police. “A member of the public contacted us to say they had found it and brought it in. The incident is being classed 'recovered lost property'. The victim has confirmed that no items are missing and we can find no evidence of theft,” the police spokesperson said.

The person who found the bag said it was lying in a trolley at the car park. In all probability, Lohan's assistants failed to load her luggage into her car safely. “I found the bag on the back of a trolley in a car park near Terminal One on Thursday night. I picked it up with the intention of handing it into police. I had no idea it was Lindsay Lohan's until I saw the news headlines on Friday morning. I contacted the police straight away and said I would drop it off at Heathrow police station,” the Good Samaritan said.

Known for her wild and partying ways, the Just My Luck actress was accompanied by her boyfriend Harry Morton to the Venice Film Festival for the premiere of Bobby, based on the assassination of Robert Kennedy.
